Sometimes...

... I look at people I know really well, like family and stuff, and it's like I am seeing them for the first time. Like they are perfect strangers.

It can be rather disturbing.

It's just not happening!

So I am now well into this extensive summer break and I have no idea what I am going to do for the summer project (see previous post). So far I have immersed myself in books about design and the incredibly cool movies of Jean-Luc Godard but to no avail.


Perhaps a visit to the Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery next week will get things moving...

Summer Project

So we broke up about a week ago and I am starting to the think about the project they set us for over the summer:

An Alternative Portrait.

Over the summer break produce a piece of work that can be described as a portrait. Your work could be film, photographic, drawn, collage or purely typographic. Enjoy.

I am trying to come up with a list of worthy subjects. Some are cliched but this is intentional as I could do something very different to the portraits with which we are all too familiar...

2011 Wimbledon Men's Singles Final

For the Wimbledon Final, I was thinking of maybe producing a reversable flipbook - on one side you have Nadal scratching his ass and sniffing his fingers, flip it over and you get  Djokovic bouncing the ball endlessly before each serve. Just an idea...
